Project

The primary objective of the Gut2Behave project is to identify biomarkers linking gut microbiota to psychological alterations in patients with alcohol use disorder (AUD) . Serum, brain and fecal untargeted metabolomics will be correlated with psychological symptoms and gut microbiota (WP1).

The relevance of these biomarkers for patients presenting mood and cognitive disturbances in other contexts (elderly and obese patients) will be evaluated (WP2).

The potential neuroactive effect of those metabolites will be assessed in preclinical models (WP3 and WP4).

The final objective of the project will be the determination of patient’s biomarkers that will predict the improvement of psychological symptoms by nutritional therapies targeting the gut microbiota (WP5).
